Hygiene is a Priority

Hygiene is a Priority at Vytal

Hygiene is important to us! Since our products are exclusively offered in gastronomy and communal catering settings, we have thoroughly addressed this topic and chosen our current containers made of plastic. They are easy to clean, preferably in a dishwasher, and are highly recyclable. Our bowls are lightweight, durable, and maintain food warmth without becoming too hot themselves. Developed and manufactured in Germany and the Czech Republic in compliance with EU standards, our containers can be used at least 200 times according to the manufacturer — so treat them well to ensure a long, sustainable life. For more information on proper usage, check out our article "Dos and Don'ts: Proper Handling of Our Vytals."

Hygiene at Partner Locations

All our partners are contractually obligated to clean our Vytals upon return. This can be done via dishwasher or, in smaller restaurants and stores, by hand if necessary. For hand cleaning, we have set specific standards that must be followed to ensure the Vytals are hygienic for the next guest.

Some restaurants do not clean our bowls themselves but instead have them picked up by us for cleaning as part of our washing service. This service is commonly booked by supermarket chains that don't have the capacity to clean large quantities on-site.

Proper drying and storage are also essential after washing. If the Vytals are not dry, germs can multiply, and no one wants to see dust on their container when expecting delicious food. ;)

If you notice anything that doesn't meet these standards, feel free to contact us at hallo@vytal.org.

Hygiene for Vytal Users — Your Role

Our high hygiene standards don't just apply to our partners — as soon as you borrow a bowl, you're responsible too. That means: Please handle it with care and give it a quick rinse before returning it if you can't return it immediately. This helps our partners, and it ensures the bowls can be reused sustainably.

If bowls are too damaged or even moldy, they must be taken out of circulation. So please treat our bowls as carefully as you would your own dishes — you wouldn’t want to buy a new plate every few weeks, right? ;)

Also, keep in mind that partners have the right to refuse excessively dirty bowls — and if they do, the bowl will be charged to you.
